Saturday Milan (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 102

The 102nd week of the Sailathil Saturday Sangamam event was held on July 6, 2024. More than 90 Elders from VK Puram, Mannar kovil, Alwarkurichy Kadayam and pottalputhur participated.

The Sangamam commenced at 10.00 A.M. with a prayer song sung by Mrs. Puspam, who captivated everyone with her sweet voice. Following the prayer, the elders engaged in yoga exercises for relaxation and rejuvenation. The program then started with elders sharing stories that provided valuable morals to the audience.

The elders thoroughly enjoyed a game called “Seven Steps,” which involved catching team members within seven steps. Those who failed to catch a member within the given steps became the next catcher. This game brought much laughter and fun.

For entertainment, the elders sang their favorite songs and posed riddles to one another. This week’s Sangamam also featured a certificate distribution ceremony for students who completed the “Computer for All” program at Mannar Koil and Sivasailam. A total of 63 students completed the course.

Our trustee, Mr. Muthukumarasamy, along with Mr. Arumugam, Mr. Venkatesh, Mr. Vijayan, Mr. M. Subbiah from Chennai, and Mr. Mugunth from SSN College, participated and distributed the certificates. Mr. Vijayan shared his experiences about the tuition center at Mannarkoil.

During the break, everyone enjoyed a healthy malt drink and biscuits. After the tea break, all actively participated in an activity where they had to rotate a balloon using their heads and collect it one by one to move forward to their destination. Meditation was then led by Ms. Lakshmi, AOL Teacher from Tirunelveli.

During lunch, they happily ate white rice, sambar, aviyal, pickle, buttermilk, and payasam. Despite the simple recipes and ingredients, the meal was delicious.

Post-lunch, the elders engaged in more activities and enjoyed listening to music sung by their peers. The entire day was filled with joy, and the elders departed for their homes with wonderful memories
