Saturday Milan (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 103

The 103th week of the Sailathil Saturday Sangamam event was held  yesterday, July 20, 2024. Around 100 Elders from VK Puram,Alwarkurichy Kadayam and pottalputhur participated. 

Aadi month has just started and in coming months bhakti overflows in a significant manner, starting with Aadi, which signals the start of festivities spreading over months. It is the sacred time for embarking on agricultural activity, of remembering our ancestors, and seeking divine blessings for prosperity and procreation.  Smt Sivagami Amma from Agasthiyarpatti, V K Puram with her team of 30 members came and performed “

Thiruvachagam Mutrothal

(திருவாசகம் முற்றோதல்)Chanting Thiruvachagam in full” 

They Chanted selected Verses from Thirumurai one to Thirumurai Seven followed by the Chanting of entire Thiruvachagam 658 hymns.

Smt Sivagami Amma mentioned that it is her    th session. She added that recently Manikkavachagar Guru Pooja Festival was conducted. This event will enhance the service of Vama Trust to the Elders and students.  During chanting Prathani Pathhu, elders prayed for the wellness of elders, Students donors and entire society and universe.

During the break, everyone enjoyed a healthy malt drink and biscuits.

The duo Ms Subha and Ms Gowsalya announced that beyond prayers whosoever interested for other activities, they are ready with several game. It was wonderful climate and to enjoy it Many elders who were keen to remove their weeklong isolation, gathered for game activities.  Several games were conducted and it brought much laughter and fun.

During lunch, white rice, Kadi Pakkoda (Namma uor Moorluzhambu in North Indian system) Kootu, pickle, buttermilk, and sarkarai Pongal and polliyotharai. As it was intermittently drizzling, hot meals were a great varaprasadam for them. Vama team was wondering what to do if it was drizzling when elders having their lunch at the open space. But Saral supported by stopping temporarily to enable elders to enjoy the food.

Post-lunch, the elders engaged in more activities and enjoyed games with their peers. They completely forgot their age, gender and time.

The entire day was blessed with chanting and elders enjoyed with funs and games.  Around 4.30 pm they departed for their homes with wonderful memories.
