SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 179
We are happy to share the successful completion of the 179th week of Sangamam, held on 20th June at Sivasailam. This week’s program was filled with several meaningful activities, fun sessions, and concept-based discussions for the elders.
As part of the program, we celebrated National Yoga Day and encouraged our elders to participate in simple yoga practices. The yoga session was guided based on techniques trained by experts, and the elders actively performed the steps with great enthusiasm.
We also had a discussion session where the elders recalled and shared their feedback about the previous week’s program, where grandchildren showed respect to their grandparents through Paadha Pooja. Many elders expressed their happiness and shared that they felt deeply touched and blessed to receive such love and respect from the younger generation.
Our program coordinator conducted memory-strengthening activities for the elders to help them stay mentally active and confident. Through these exercises, we reminded them that their memory is still strong and encouraged them to stay engaged in meaningful activities during their free time.
A fun balloon game was organized, where the elders competed to see who could blow and burst the balloon first. Both men and women participated actively and enjoyed the activity like children, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone.
We also conducted entertainment games and interactive discussions, where elders shared their childhood memories, favorite moments, and experiences with their spouses. These conversations brought joy and emotional connection among the participants.
For lunch, we served a delicious and nutritious meal consisting of Rice, Vendakkai Kara Kuzhambu, Suraikkai Kootu, Urulai Poriyal, Rasam, More, Appalam, and Sweet. After lunch, we continued with group discussions and memory games.
In the afternoon session, we conducted another memory-checking activity by asking the elders to name at least 10 birds, animals, trees, fruits, vegetables, and village names. The elders happily participated and enjoyed recalling and sharing their answers.
After the tea break, all 80 elders returned to their homes with sweet memories, happiness, and positive energy from the day’s activities.
We thank everyone who continues to support and encourage our Sangamam program for the well-being and happiness of our elders.
