Greetings from Vama Charitable Trust

Celebrating the wisdom of our elders- Vama trust along with the first year BEd students from  Merit  college of Education ,Idaikal celebrated International Day for Older Persons. Around 70 elders were entertained by 34 BEd students & 5 professors and Principal madam. Students sung old songs, danced and spoke importance of caring elders.   

Dr P Indumathy, MBBS, DDVL , a well known Dermatologist graced the occasion as Special Guest.  She shared her thoughts on how elders to take care of themselves regularly with proper hygiene practices, right diets and small tips on caring skins etc.  

Students and professors took oath to respect and care elders.  Also assured that they would endeavour to preserve the talents of elders and enable them to aStudents like Mohana and her team and Ms.Mutharasi who anchored the event performed excellently as if they had been with the elders for long time. 

Students conducted several games for elders and gifted them for winning.  

Elders enjoyed good lunch with pleasure serving and caring by students.  

Post lunch Vama team requested students and staff not to just celebrate with elders today on occasion but it should be part of their life journey.  Vama team requested them to become Vama Volunteers and serve the elderly community regularly.
