The 111th week of the Sailathil Saturday Sangamam event was held on 14th September 2024, centered around the theme of “Connecting Generations.” The event saw participation from over 130 elders from various areas, including VK Puram, Mannarkovil, Alwarkurichy, Kadayam, Pappakudi, Thirumalaipuram, and Pottalputhur.The Sangamam commenced at 10:00 A.M. with a soulful prayer song performed by Mrs. Puspam, whose melodious voice captivated everyone.

We are glad to share that the 110th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held on 7th September 2024 at our Sailam . This week, we celebrated Vinayagar Chathurthi with our elders. Over 80 elders participated and got the blessings of Sree Soundarya Ganapathy. Our kitchen team prepared delicious mothagam and prasadam for the celebration. The elders sang songs in praise of Lord Vinayagar and shared stories, including the significance of Lord Vinayagar and the reason behind the legend of Kajamugan. Mrs. Sivagamiyammal shared stories about Vinayagar, and Ms. Pushpam sung several dovational songs with her sweet voice, singing many songs related to the Vinayagar Chathurthy celebration.

We are happy to share that the 109th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held today (31/08/2024) at our Sailam. More than 100 elders participated from nearby villages including Pappakudi, Mannarkoil, VK Puram, Kalyanipuram, Alwarkurichy, and Thirumalipuram. We were also pleased to welcome 15 new participants to our Sangamam this week. This week, our VAMA team celebrated the birthday of Mr Sankararaman, husband of Mrs. Lakshmi madam AOLWe also extended our warm courtesy to our well-wisher, retired collector Sh Lakshmi Kandha Bharathi, on the occasion of his 75th wedding anniversary, with all our beneficiaries joining in the celebrations. During the event, Mrs. Lakshmi addressed the gathering, encouraging everyone to maintain a positive outlook on life. She emphasized that what we think is what we manifest, so it’s important to stay positive and happy. She also advised everyone to keep their bodies healthy through regular small exercises and breathing routines.

Yesterday (28-08-2024 - Wednesday), we conducted a culinary arts training session for school children. A total of 30 students from Athrikala Middle School, Sivasailam, participated. The session aimed to impart knowledge about the culinary arts and how they have evolved over time, with insights from the Sangakalam era. The students also shared their own cooking experiences from home.

The 108th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held today at Pappakudi, on the campus of the Thirukadukkai Moontreeswarar Temple. More than 80 elders from nearby villages and Pappakudi.Mannarkoil ,VK puram,Kalyanipuram and Alwarkurichy participated in the program. Additionally, 45 school children from Hindu Middle School in Pappakudi took part and conducted a cultural program.

We are happy to report that the 107th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held, featuring two engagements with both elders and younger participants, in line with our concept of connecting generations. This week, we focused on the Independence Day celebration and provided training for the younger participants with the support of the elders in preparing traditional snacks.

Our 106th Saturday Sangamam event was held on the 10th of August at Ambai Tamil Elakkiya Peravai. Our participation was graciously invited by the Peravai’s Secretary, Mr. Lakshmanan, as part of their 49th Annual Day celebration. Over 60 elders from our trust attended the event, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and engaging activities. We arranged transportation for all attendees, ensuring a smooth pick-up and drop-off. The event itself saw the participation of more than 380 individuals, with our Vama team performing from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Greetings from Vama Charitable Trust Today at Sailam, we have started Full Moon Dinner with elders. Around 24 elders who are our regular mid day meal beneficiaries and others gathers and spent their good evening and had dinner together.

Yesterday our students and elders celebrated 78th Independence Day. Elders shared their experiences and expertise to younger generations through culinary skills training. Several tips on cooking and kitchen related topics were shared.
