We are glad to share that the 110th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held on 7th September 2024 at our Sailam . This week, we celebrated Vinayagar Chathurthi with our elders. Over 80 elders participated and got  the blessings of Sree Soundarya Ganapathy.

Our kitchen team prepared delicious mothagam and prasadam for the celebration. The elders sang songs in praise of Lord Vinayagar and shared stories, including the significance of Lord Vinayagar and the reason behind the legend of Kajamugan. Mrs. Sivagamiyammal shared stories about Vinayagar, and Ms. Pushpam sung several dovational songs with her sweet voice, singing many songs related to the Vinayagar Chathurthy celebration.

We were also honored to have Mr. Kumar, a retired SBI employee and renowned coach for competitive and  bank examination, as our special guest this week. He brought Mothaga Kolukattai for elders. He spoke highly of the contributions of our elders at VAMA, recognizing their efforts as truly inspiring and amazing. Elders Sivagamiamma and Pushpam Amma sang Thiruvasagam – Thiru Porchunnam song, while many elders enthusiastically joined in Kolattam dancing, which made the celebration even more lively and enjoyable.

The lunch this week was  tasty more kulambu with Rice, raw banana poriyal, malli thuvaiyal, puliyodarai, mothagam, and ulunthu sundal. Our elders thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

After lunch, we held an Antakshari session (Pattukku Pattu), with all the elders participating in two teams, singing joyfully. Sh Kumar who was watching the activities till lunch, got mingled with elders and amazed saying that elders present are innocent and so nice. To everyone’s delight, more than 10 elders even started dancing. Afterward, tea and biscuits were served, and all left with happy hearts, having enjoyed a wonderful and fulfilling day.
