It is our great pleasure to share that the 119th week of our Sangamam event was combined yesterday with the inauguration ceremony of our new building at Sivasailam.

More than 80 elders participated from V K Puram, Ambai, Kallidai, Chettikulam, Alwarkurichi, Mannarkoil and other villages.

For the last few years our trust focused on elderly people by providing daily lunch and weekly gatherings to remove their economical and social isolation.  These gatherings enabled them to be with same age group and spend their time qualitatively with them.  Most of the time post lunch elders needed some place to lay down and relax. Due to nonavailability of space elders scarified their basic need of rest.

Understanding the need our trustees have represented and requested for support to various corporate. Fortunately Healthwatch Tele Diagnostic Pvt Ltd New  Delhi and Northern Arc Foundation Chennai are kind enough to consider our request.  With their support building construction was completed.  Dr Sh (Hon) Senthil Kandeepan graced the occasion and inaugurated the building in the presence of Tyagi K Lakshmi Kanthan Bharathi Retd IAS yesterday.   Elders were happy to be in the event and the kindness of shown by Dr Kandeepan and his team  Ramya Madam, Mr Prabhakaran  & Mr Alagesan, Chennai and Mr VIvek from Salem and thanked them for their support.

Vama team invited and expected the kind presence of Sh Saurabh Jaywant and his team to grace the occasion and inaugurate the Northern Arc block. But due to their prior appointment, they expressed their inability to come this time and agreed to visit Sailam shortly.  Retd Collector Sir Sh Lakshmi Kanthan Bharathi was kind enough of inaugurate Northrrn Arc block along with other elders.

Ganesh puja performed in the morning and at the start of the gathering elders sung Devotional songs.  Sh Lakshmi Kanthan Bharthi Iyya, Sh Ramaya Thatha of Mannarkoil and Sh I Lakshman shared their experiences with gatherings at Sailam and praised the spirit of philanthropy in India and the kindness of people like Sh Kandeepan.  Vama team thanked Smt Gowri and Sh Suresh to introduce our trust to Dr Kandeepan and their regular support and blessings.

Trustees Sh M Sundaram, Sh Nallasivam and others Sh S Lakshman, Smt Saraswati Teacher and many more joined us and appreciated the efforts.

Vama team organised to distribute the dresses to building contractors team and completion certificate to the students and housewives who completed their training under Computer for All program. Around 28 participants received their course completion certificates.  Mrs Shanmuga Vadivoo requested Ms Ramya and others from Healthwatch to consider some of the trainees for employment in their organisation.  Ms Ramya suggested that Sh.Shiva ,Digital designer , friend of her present there to consider the request as Sh .Shiva is running a business in Tirunelveli.

Sh Sailappan the contractor and his team thanked the donors for their kindness. 

Good feast  with Sambar, Aviyal, Poriyal, Payasam, Rasam, Vathakuzhmbu etc was served and enjoyed by all present.
