97th week of Saturday samgamam at sailam was held yesterday (25/05/2024) with around 90 elders from V.K.Puram, Kalyanipuram, Mannarkoil, Alwarkurichy ,Puthudiyiruppu etc.  Although there was threat of heavy raining and it was raining till 9 am., with the blessing of Sree Paramakalyani Amman and Sree Sivasailanathar, the event started & went smoothly. 

Mr. Lakshmikandhan Bharathi Retired IAS, one of the beneficiaries who visited Tenkasi Thiruvalluvar Kazhagam event last Friday learned from Kailai Charitable Trust, Krishnapuram, Kadaiyanallur, Tenkasi about PANJAPURANAM reciting program.

He requested people to dedicate the time for prayer and think about Lord Siva by singing the five Songs.  Elders started the program with PANJAPURANA SONG, sung by Sh. Lakshimikanthan, Mrs.Pushpam and Mr.Lakshmnan , all accompanied them.  Sh. Lakshmikanthan suggested to bring this a part of our Connecting Generation and enable youth to learn our tradition with the support of elders.  He suggested to have one-hour session every week on a healthy competition on the Panja Puranam recitals.  A certificate program can be introduced.

After that Ms. Suba and Ms. Kowsalya compered the event conducted various activities and games to engage elders mentally and physically. They started the event with clapping exercise and yoga because it gives relaxation to the elders.

A mind game for introvert people for relaxing and communicate with other was conducted. At the end of the game all are participated very well and know their colleagues and they also conducted ball and bucket game. In this game they focused their destination (bucket) and put the ball into the bucket.

In the break time elders enjoyed healthy drink (malt).  All of sudden, post first break, elders were asked to participate in a Pattimandram spontaneously.  Without any hesitation, Sh. I Lakshmanan, Sh. Sadasivam, Sh. Ramaya Thatha and Smt. Eassakiammal, Smt. Muthulakshmi and Smt. Amutha came front and eagerly started the program.  Sh. Lakshmikanthan, consented to act as the Judge for the program.  The topic the debate is இன்றைய காலத்தில் நாகரிகமும் பண்பாடும் வளர்கிறதா? தளர்கிறதா? Well debated by both the teams and VAZHARKIRATHU team was adjudged as winners.

Computer students of VAMA Charitable Trust conducted a dance Programme all elders enjoyed with enthusiastically.

As usual after activities all are went for lunch. In the lunch white rice,Kathrikka  kaara kulambu, daal, waxgourd kottu, butter milk, pickle and sweet pongal are served in that lunch.

After lunch, Trustee discussed about coming 100th Sangamam and they give a suggestion about that, and opinion about past Sangamam. After all discussion, they all went their home by Vama van.
