98th week of Saturday Sangamam was held on (01.06.2024) with more than 90 elders at Sailam. They arrived at 10.am as usual after visiting the Sailappar temple. The event was started with a prayer song sung by all beneficiaries. After the prayer they performed Meditation with some breathing exercises and some small games involving rubbing the palms when placed on the eyes, the heat soothes the stressed eyes and increases blood circulation around the eyes. They then played a game by connecting dots continuously without taking their hands. By playing this game, the elders enjoyed with this games . After that, they played Lucky Corner. This game is very interesting to the elders because this game choose who is the luckiest person of the day .
We distributed malt (healthy drinks )to the elders during the break time.
Following the break, both compering girls gave some activities for the elders, such as “A Plate Full of Rice”. This game is designed to develop different levels of imagination in elders. In conclusion, one of the elders spoke about the importance of rice and farmers. Through this activity, we gave elders the opportunity to speak about various topics that they are familiar with.
Next they divide into 5 groups of people and the coordinator given five different Topic to speak about the topics [1)உணவே மருந்து, 2) ஆரோய்க்கியமான உணவு, 3) மரம் வளர்ப்போம், 4) உடற்பயிற்சி, 5) பழுதுநீக்குதல். to each groups and give 10-15 minutes duration for their preparation. They are participated in this particular game very well. All elders spoke well and shared their knowledge on the given topics .
At Lunch time they all ate delicious food (White rice, buttermilk kulambu, Rasam, Kothu Avaraikkai Paruppu usili , pickle, Lemon rice) After lunch they took a nap.
After that they are participated very interesting game of (1,2,3 Bottle) in this game they were made fun. Then among all elders only 4 members played that carrying a bottle with one finger of each person without lifting bottle and reached their destination. It gives co-ordination and developed their friendship.
Elders enjoyed and departed for their home with mixed memories.
