Saturday Milan (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 132

We are delighted to share the details of our 132nd week of Saturday Sangamam with elders at Sailam. This week, we had the privilege of welcoming new visitors from Tenkasi Moothor Sangam, with 13 welders and one  professional  guest Mr.Muthukrishnan CMA from Tirunelveli  joining us, along with our regular beneficiaries from VK Puram, Mannarkoil, Alwarkurichi, Pappakudi, Thirumalaipuram, and Pottalputhur. In total, more than 120 elders participated in the event.

Our trustees, Mr. Kumar and Mr. Sundaram, were present alongside the elders. The program began with a meditation session conducted by the Heartfulness team from Tirunelveli, comprising four members. They guided the elders through a 30-minute meditation practice to help them maintain peace of mind and body. The elders from Tenkasi shared their positive experiences after the session.

Following the meditation, refreshments were served, including venpoosani (ash gourd) juice, which is known for its benefits in cooling the body, aiding weight loss, and supporting urinary health. The elders enjoyed the juice and appreciated its health benefits.

Next, our students from the Computer and Professional Course engaged the elders in a series of fun games such as tower-breaking, balloon games, and ball-and-cup games. The elders from Tenkasi actively participated and even won several games, making the session lively and joyful.

Our regular beneficiaries shared their heartfelt experiences of being part of VAMA’s initiatives over   weeks. Additionally, students Subi, Soundarya, and Agnas performed a traditional dance portraying the richness of our agriculture and cultural heritage, which was well-received by everyone.

Towards the end of the program, our trustee, Mr. Sundaram, expressed his gratitude to all the elders who joined from Tenkasi, while Mr. Kumar distributed commemorative bags as a token of remembrance.

A delicious lunch was served, featuring rice, sambar, mor kulambu, banana puttu, brinjal pachadi, rasam, and more. The elders thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Post-lunch, the elders enthusiastically participated in their favorite Antakshari session, filling the atmosphere with joy and music. Finally, the elders from Tenkasi bid farewell, carrying with them sweet memories of the gathering.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire VAMA team for their dedicated efforts in organizing and coordinating this wonderful event
