We are happy to share the update on the 136th week of Sangamama at Sailam.
This week, we organized a special gathering for elders to highlight the value of their feedback and to hold a Thiruvasagam Mutrothuthal session. The event saw the participation of over 70 elders, who openly shared their thoughts and appreciation for VAMA’s caring service towards elders, especially in reducing social isolation and loneliness in their homes.
In addition, more than 30 elders individually began reciting Thiruvasagam and shared their understanding of each song. The meanings and explanations were beautifully presented by Sivamma, the head of the team. She has now completed 1,750 programs across various locations and continues to serve the elderly community by connecting them through the soulful singing of Thiruvasagam.
We served lunch at 01:00 PM, which included a variety of delicious dishes such as kulambu, pachadi, rasam, malli thuvayal, and more. Later at 3:30 PM, we also provided snacks (pakadai) with hot tea. Everyone appreciated the efforts of our kitchen team and the quality of the food.
Following the completion of the Thiruvasagam session, all the participants shared their heartfelt experiences with VAMA’s programs over the past one and a half years. They expressed their deep gratitude towards the trustees and Mrs. Vasanathy Kumar for the continued organization of these weekly programs and the loving care shown by the entire team.
Finally, all participants were safely dropped back to their homes by our VAMA van service.
