SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 168
168th Week of Sangamam – Womens day celebration – VAMA Charitable Trust
Greetings from VAMA Charitable Trust!
We are delighted to share the successful completion of the 168th Week of Sangamam, held on 21st March at Sailam. The program was organized as part of our Women’s Day celebration and witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 80 women.
We were honored to have a special team of six women staff members from LIC, Tirunelveli Branch, who actively participated in the event and generously donated a mixer (mixie) and other kitchen appliances to our Trust. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Arumuga Nainar and Mrs. Nainar for their valuable contribution of a grinder. These materials will greatly support our VAMA Café initiative, which focuses on providing hygienic midday meals for elders.
The event featured meaningful sharing sessions where many elders expressed their thoughts through kavithai (poetry) and shared their experiences and achievements in connection with Women’s Day.
Our Trustee, Mr. Muthukumarasamy, interacted with the participants and gathered insights on the concept of “Mahilvithu Mahil”, which had been discussed in the previous month’s Sangamam.
We were also privileged to have Mr. Meenakshi Subbiramanian from Mukkudal, who spoke about elderly health care, maintenance, and how beneficiaries can effectively utilize VAMA’s support services while contributing back to society.
Mrs. Muthulakshmi and the LIC team shared their experiences and appreciated the efforts of VAMA in elder care. We were also glad to have Mrs. Kavitha Prasad from Ravasamuthiram, who joined the event and expressed her appreciation.
The program included several fun and engaging activities such as musical chairs, lucky corner games, paper cup games, and balloon activities, bringing joy and laughter to all participants.
During the tea break, Pearl Poori and Rasna were served. Lunch included a delicious and hygienic meal with rice, sambar, potato porial, bottle gourd kootu, paruppu payasam, rasam, and buttermilk. The food and service provided by our kitchen team were highly appreciated by all attendees.
Post lunch, we conducted a lively “Paatu Neram” (singing session), where many elders sang old songs and enjoyed nostalgic moments together. The event concluded with tea and biscuits.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the LIC team and all donors for their generous contributions and continued support. The program ended on a joyful note, with all participants returning home with happy hearts.
Thank you for your continued encouragement and support.
Warm regards,
VAMA Team
