We are pleased to share that we successfully celebrated the 7th Anniversary of VAMA Charitable Trust and have now entered our 8th year on 30th November . This special event was combined with our regular ‘Elders Sangamam’ program,this week 122 week of sangamam where over 150 elders participates from various places mannarkoil ,vk puram ,thirumalai puram ,pappa kudi ,sitha malli ,Alwarkurichy ,tirunelveli ,kalyani puram ,puthukudiyiruppu and enjoyed the various activities organized by the VAMA team.
The day began with a medical camp conducted by Vaigarai Tharuvai Homeo Medical Care Clinic. Experienced homeopathy doctors checked the health of all the elders and provided necessary medicines.
A team from Heartfulness also joined us and shared insights on the concept of happiness. They conducted a ‘Mind-Free’ program, teaching physical exercises, breathing techniques, and yoga practices, which the elders actively participated in.
Additionally, ISKCON devotees organized the Govardhana Pooja, led by Thirupathy Prabhu and his team. All the elders took part in the pooja and performed the Govardhana Girivalam with great enthusiasm.
Following the rituals, Ms. Selvi Koshika and Ms. Sakthika presented a beautiful Bharatanatyam performance to classical Carnatic and popular songs, including the memorable track from the film Vanjikottai Valiban. This performance brought back cherished memories for the elders, and they expressed their joy and nostalgia.
The delicious lunch was distributed such as sambar, aviyal, poriyal, payasam, vathakulambu, rasam, and pappads. The elders thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
After lunch Sh I. Lakshmanan shared a Kavithai on Vama’s completion of 7 years. He also shared his experience with Vama’s Saturday Sangamam event which was helpful for bringing out his talent in Tamil language. Then Sh Muthaiya, Special guest from Suthamalli appreciated the work done by Vama Trust and appreciated the efforts of entire team. Involving him in the event, he sang some devotional songs. He praised the doctors and presented them gifts as a token of appreciation. ‘Elders Mrs. Pushpam, Thirumalai Murugan, Rengasamy, Essakiammal,Ms.subbulakshmi sung songs of their own time.
In the event our Trustees Mr Sundaram, Mr Sailasubramanian, Mr Nallasivan and Mr Muthu kumarasamy participated and made the event memorable .
We honored all guest elders and children who contributed to the service for the elders, making this anniversary celebration a memorable ch and heartwarming event
