Saturday Milan (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 143

We are delighted to share the highlights of the 143rd week of our Sangamam program held at Sailam.

This week, we had the special occasion of celebrating the Shastiyaptha Poorthy (60th wedding anniversary) of our beloved trustee Mr. Muthukumarasamy and Mrs. Vasanthy. The program began with a devotional Ganapathy song soulfully rendered by Mrs. Esakkiyammal.

Coinciding with the International Yoga Day, our elders from VK Puram, led by Mrs. Kalyani and her team, conducted a yoga session for women, focusing on simple and effective pain-relieving exercises, particularly helpful in managing age-related discomfort. The session was well-received and actively participated in by all the elders.

Following the yoga session, the children from Niruthra Kalaiya Nattiya School gave a vibrant Bharatanatyam performance, which brought immense joy to the elders. The performance was guided by Mrs. Rohini, a dedicated volunteer of our Trust who has been contributing her time and talent since her college days for the past four years.

More than 10 children participated in the dance event, performing to over 8 classical songs. Mr. Rengan, a well-wisher of our Trust, appreciated the children and presented tokens of appreciation to each participant.

After the cultural performances, a traditional Kalyana Sappadu was served, complete with payasam and vada, enjoyed by all attendees. Post-lunch, the elders came together to joyously celebrate the Shastiyaptha Poorthy of Kumar Sir and his wife, a cherished initiative under the Trust’s programs.

This week’s Sangamam was marked by tradition, culture, and community spirit. The elders especially enjoyed the Bharatanatyam program and the Poorthy celebrations, making it a memorable and fulfilling event for everyone.

We are proud to share that more than 150 elders participated in the program from various locations.
