Saturday Milan (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 148

We are delighted to share that the 148th week of Sangamam was successfully held at Sailam on Saturday, 23rd August.

This week’s gathering was particularly enriching, with participation from individuals across various organizations and regions. We were honored to welcome Mr. Krishnamoorthi, a respected counsellor and elder-care advocate, who joined us as a guest speaker. We also had the pleasure of hosting Dr Badmanaban from the Kallidaikurichi Old Age Home, who spent time interacting with our Trustee and commended the selfless work being done for the elder community.

Mr. Neelakandan, a retired headmaster from Ravanasamudram, attended the event with his wife Mrs. Bhuvaneshwari. A long-time well-wisher of VAMA Trust, Mr. Neelakandan has been instrumental in spreading awareness about our work and supporting us in many meaningful ways. Their continued encouragement and shared interest in service truly added warmth to the occasion.

Mr. Krishnamoorthi’s session focused on the holistic well-being of elders, offering valuable insights on balanced nutrition, emotional wellness, and coping with stress and depression in family environments. His talk was followed by engaging group activities that promoted communication and teamwork.

The highlight was a joyful “stone-passing” game that energized the participants and fostered a spirit of togetherness.
We were also joined by Mr. Ramalingam and two members of the Tenkasi Moothor Sangam, who praised the special initiatives and thoughtful care extended by VAMA to our elder community. Their words of appreciation were heartwarming and encouraging.

The event concluded with a wholesome lunch prepared lovingly by our dedicated kitchen team. The menu featured:
Rice, Sambar, Ladies’ Finger Pachadi, Bottle Gourd Kootu, Coriander Thuvayal, Rasam, Mor, and Pickles – a nourishing and delicious spread enjoyed by all.
After lunch, many participants shared heartfelt feedback, expressing how much they valued the day’s experience. Mr. Krishnamoorthi also conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and connect with the elders.

As always, everyone returned home with joy in their hearts and smiles on their faces, safely transported by the VAMA van, carrying wonderful memories of the day.Your Support Makes This Possible
