SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 160
We are happy to share that the 160th week of Saturday Sangamam was held successfully on 27th at Sailam. This milestone event was completed with the wholehearted support of our beneficiaries and well-wishers, who continue to participate regularly and introduce new people to our Trust.
This week, the program mainly focused on entertainment and recreational activities for elders. Our volunteer Ms. Gowsi conducted fun games and well-planned activities, which brought joy and enthusiasm among the participants. Despite many elders having commitments due to Margazhi Sirappu Pooja, more than 70 elders from various locations participated actively and enjoyed the program.
We were honoured by the presence of our guest from Chennai, Mr. Srikanthan, Secretary, Akshaya Foundation, Chennai, who visited Tirunelveli with his family. He participated actively in all the games and competitions. His son and daughter-in-law, both IT professionals, shared their feedback that they truly enjoyed the program without stress or work pressure. They expressed that during the last four days at VAMA, they felt a warm, homely atmosphere and appreciated the caring and responsible nature of our Trust. They also mentioned that they have not come across such a dedicated, village-based Trust in Chennai that works with such compassion for elders.
They highly appreciated VAMA Charitable Trust’s services for elders, persons with disabilities, students’ education, and overall social wellness activities in rural areas.
As part of the program, lunch was served to all elders, which included rice, sambar, chow-chow kootu, rasam, appalam, and buttermilk. After lunch, the activities continued with engaging games such as “Pattukku Pattu,” “Mathi Pesu,” and “Speed Up Speed Up,” which were thoroughly enjoyed by the elders.
Prizes were distributed to the elders who won the competitions, and New Year wishes were shared with all participants. The program concluded with the elders returning to their homes carrying sweet memories and happy hearts.
Once again, the 160th week of Sangamam stood as a meaningful and joyful gathering, strengthening bonds and promoting well-being among elders.
