SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 178

We are happy to share about the successful completion of the 178th week of the Sangamam Program, held on 13th June, with the special theme “Respect to Elders.” The program focused on honoring grandparents through the beautiful tradition of Paadha Pooja performed by their grandchildren.

More than 80 elders participated in the program, and among them, 13 elders attended along with their grandchildren. The event began with an interaction session where the children were encouraged to speak about their grandparents. They shared their love, experiences, and memorable moments with their grandmothers and grandfathers. Many children spoke emotionally about their grandparents’ sacrifices, the special food they cook, and the happiness they experience while spending time with them.

After the sharing session, we arranged the Paadha Pooja ceremony, where all the children respectfully performed Paadha Pooja for their grandparents. It was a heart-touching moment filled with love, gratitude, and blessings. After the ceremony, the grandparents blessed their grandchildren and shared their own life experiences, struggles, and sacrifices made for their children and families.

One of the elders, Mrs. Thirumalai, shared her emotional journey of losing both her son and daughter-in-law, and how she struggled hard to raise and educate her grandchildren for their survival and future. Her story deeply touched everyone present and reminded us of the strength and sacrifice of grandparents.
A special highlight of this week’s Sangamam was the celebration of Mr. Kalyana Raman’s birthday, one of our Trust’s well-wishers. The celebration brought joy to all the elders, and they wholeheartedly conveyed their blessings for his good health, happiness, and a peaceful family life. It was a warm and memorable moment for everyone.

Following the session, we served a traditional lunch which included rice, sambar, surakkai koottu, vendaikkai poriyal, sweet rasam, buttermilk, and pickle. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and it was made even more special as the grandchildren served food to their grandparents with love and care.

After lunch, both grandparents and grandchildren spent time together sharing stories and creating joyful memories. The entire program was filled with happiness, bonding, and emotional connection across generations.

This week’s Sangamam program was truly a memorable and meaningful celebration of love, respect, and togetherness between grandparents and grandchildren.
We thank each and every one who participated and supported us in making this event a grand success.
