Saturday Milan (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 84

On 24th February 2024, 84th week of Sailathil Saturday Sangamam event was held with the concept on Connecting Generations.

Around 86 elders, 11 college students and 8 ISKCON devotees (2 Prabhu ji/ 4 mataji and 2 little Prabhu ji) gathered and celebrated

Sh Dharmaraj from Mumbai (who came to Papakudi for Sree Thirukadugai Moontreeshwar Temple) was our special guest.

Elders started with their activities at Alwarkurichi Railway Station as part of their Active Ageing Group (AAG) program.  Plan was to clean up the bushes in the railway station as on the evening there were possibilities of insects and reptile in that bushes. Around 64 elders from Mannarkoil, V K Puram and Alwarkurichi joined and did their best to clean some part of the railway platform. Vama team thanked the initiative of AAG and elders came to Sailam around 11.00 am.

Meanwhile college students came and were planning for the connecting and making joy for elders.

College children introduced themselves and shared their activities in NSS. Few of the elders who were also part of such NSS remembered those old days when they were doing such activities.  Some women shared their activities and in school and appreciated the children for their efforts to contribute to the society.

Games and dance activities started to connect with elders.

Afterthat, ISKCON team joined and shared live examples of remembering and calling Krishna for help.  Prabhu ji mentioned that earlier there were prayer and through prayers Bhaktha Prahalad, Hanuman and Draupadi called Krishna and got his blessings.  Prabhu ji explained the connection between Lord Krishna and us. He mentioned that Sree Krishna is the connector of several generations and yogas.

In the afternoon post lunch, elders started singing songs and sharing experiences.  Smt. Palaniammal who recently went to Varanasi shared her experience and distributed Ganga Jal, Prasad and vibuthi.  Good efforts for Vama Team to arrange another meaningful event.
