SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) - 167

167th Week of Sangamam 7th March 2026

The 167th week of Sangamam was successfully conducted at Sailam with a major focus on an Eye Care Camp for elders.

This special initiative was organized in association with Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. To ensure maximum outreach, information about the camp was circulated across 12 nearby panchayats, along with village-level communication to mobilize elders.

The camp was conducted over a period of 7 days. During this time, more than 500 elders were screened by specialist doctors. Out of those screened, 31 elders who were diagnosed with cataract underwent successful surgery on 7th March.

On Saturday, 7th March, we were honored by the presence of Esakki Pandian, Chairman of Kallidaikurichi Peruratchi, and Anbarasan, Sanitary Officer. From Kallidaikurichi alone, more than 80 participants attended the camp.

The initiative received great appreciation from the public. Many acknowledged that VAMA is not only providing food for elders but is also deeply committed to their overall health and well-being through various initiatives.

Throughout the week, the VAMA campus was actively engaged with elders and the medical team from Sankara Nethralaya, creating a vibrant and service-oriented environment.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all supporters, donors, and well-wishers who contributed to the success of this eye camp. Our trustee and supporters highly appreciated the teamwork and dedication shown by the VAMA team during this period.

VAMA Charitable Trust expresses its sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this eye camp a grand success
