SATURDAY MILAN & DIWALI CELEBRATION - 153
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are happy to share about the VAMA Diwali Celebration held during this week with our elders, children, and special children who lost their family members during the COVID period and are in need of love and care.
As part of our Saturday Sangamam initiative, we identified deserving beneficiaries from various locations who are associated with VAMA through our health care and elder service programs. From October 14th to 20th, our team carried out field visits, selection of beneficiaries, and procurement of materials to support the most deserving individuals.
By the grace of God and with the generous support of our donor Mr. Kalyanaraman from Mannarkoil, we were able to bring joy to many lives during this Diwali. Each step of this initiative supported people from rural backgrounds and those in genuine social need.
We purchased new dresses from local vendors and sweets and snacks from the well-known homemade sweet makers in Ambasamudram, thereby also encouraging and supporting local small businesses.
Our identified beneficiaries included elderly individuals without family support, single-parent children, and children affected by COVID. In total, we identified and distributed Diwali gifts to more than 500 beneficiaries, organized village-wise.
In Mannarkoil, we had the special presence of Mr. Kalyanaraman sir’s sister-in-law, who kindly distributed the dresses to all the beneficiaries in Mannarkoil, Brahmadesam, and Vagaikulam. She expressed her happiness on seeing the deserving recipients and appreciated VAMA’s efforts in reaching out to those truly in need.
We also identified three special children from the Mannarkoil area and provided them with new dresses. Following that, we organized a distribution program for Pappakudi elders.
On October 18th, we held a special Sangamam celebration with our regular beneficiaries, where we distributed dresses and sweets to the elders and children. The day became a memorable one for everyone as we had the privilege of hosting Music Director Mr. Bharathwaj, who shared his inspiring speech and delighted everyone by singing some of his famous songs — “Gnapagam Varuthe” and “Avaravar Vaalkaiyil Ayiram Ayiram Mattrangal” from Pandavar Bhoomi.
His live performance and humble presence brought immense joy to our elders and children. During his speech, Mr. Bharathwaj expressed, “Today I truly enjoyed being with VAMA. I wish to come again and spend more time with the elders. VAMA is doing wonderful service for the community, and I wish to be a part of it.”
We concluded the event with a festive lunch, including sweets and snacks, shared with all the beneficiaries. The elders blessed VAMA Trust for its continued service and growth.
This Diwali celebration was truly filled with love, happiness, and blessings, marking another memorable milestone in VAMA’s journey of care and compassion.
