We are happy to share the highlights of the 138th week of the Sangamam program held at Sailam. This week’s gathering was made special with the “Connecting Generations” concept, bringing together elders and school children for a meaningful and joyful interaction.
With the start of the summer vacation, many school children were able to participate. They also attended the Sivanthiyappar Samaya Vaguppu, conducted by Mrs. Gomathy Thirunavukkarasu from VK Puram. More than 16 children took part in various cultural and traditional activities, joined enthusiastically by our elders.
The program included singing, discussions on the importance of family relationships, and how to maintain harmony with neighbors. One of the key highlights was a debate conducted by the children on the topic: “What is more important in life – Love or Money?” The debate was judged by Subalashmi, a young girl who fairly assessed both sides.
Both teams presented strong points.

135th Week of Sangamam at Sailam

We are happy to share the successful completion of the 135th week of Sangamam at Sailam Sir. This week, we had the pleasure of meeting over 90 elders from various locations. The elders were grouped based on their age into four groups named Vy Shenpagam, Malligai, Separuthy, and Thamarai.

Our theme for this week was “Connecting Generations.” Around 30 children and 5teachers from Brahmma Desam Hindu Primary School, accompanied by their Headmistress, Mrs. Malathy, actively participated in the program.

The event began with a prayer song by Subbu Amma. Following this, the elders and children engaged in traditional games like “Kulai Kulaiya Munthrikka,” “Pallankuli,” “Thayam,” and ball games. Some elders shared interesting stories with the children, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. Cool drinks were served during the games to keep everyone refreshed.

The children showcased their talents by performing traditional dances and delivered speeches on “Ulaga Neethi,” Thirukkural, and our nation, India. A delicious lunch, including rice, idli, sambar, curd, aval, and karkandu sadam, was served, which everyone enjoyed.

After lunch, our trustee, Mr. Kumar, along with the elders, distributed gifts to the children and honored the teachers who participated in the program. Mr. Inbasekaran and Mr. Kaviyarasan conducted the “Pattukku Pattu” session, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the elders while having tea and snacks.

To make the day more memorable, we arranged a visit to the Kadana Dam for the school children. They had a wonderful time and returned home with sweet memories. All the elders also safely returned to their respective homes with joyful experiences.

We thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event .
