SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 154

We are glad to share the highlights of the 154th Sangamam held at Sailam on 8th November, soon after the Diwali celebrations. More than 80 elders took part in this gathering, including three new members from VK Puram and Alwarkurichy, who were warmly welcomed into the Sangamam family.
To bring joy and participation, elders were encouraged to move freely, sing, play, and interact. Five teams were formed to play simple group games, led by team leaders. The laughter and togetherness reminded us that joy does not depend on age — only on the spirit to live freely.

SATURDAY MILAN & DIWALI CELEBRATION – 153

We are happy to share about the VAMA Diwali Celebration held during this week with our elders, children, and special children who lost their family members during the COVID period and are in need of love and care.

As part of our Saturday Sangamam initiative, we identified deserving beneficiaries from various locations who are associated with VAMA through our health care and elder service programs. From October 14th to 20th, our team carried out field visits, selection of beneficiaries, and procurement of materials to support the most deserving individuals.

By the grace of God and with the generous support of our donor Mr. Kalyanaraman from Mannarkoil, we were able to bring joy to many lives during this Diwali. Each step of this initiative supported people from rural backgrounds and those in genuine social need.

We purchased new dresses from local vendors and sweets and snacks from the well-known homemade sweet makers in Ambasamudram, thereby also encouraging and supporting local small businesses.

Our identified beneficiaries included elderly individuals without family support, single-parent children, and children affected by COVID. In total, we identified and distributed Diwali gifts to more than 500 beneficiaries, organized village-wise.
