Culinary Arts Training

Yesterday (28-08-2024 – Wednesday), we conducted a culinary arts training session for school children. A total of 30 students from Athrikala Middle School, Sivasailam, participated. The session aimed to impart knowledge about the culinary arts and how they have evolved over time, with insights from the Sangakalam era. The students also shared their own cooking experiences from home.

SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 108

The 108th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held today at Pappakudi, on the campus of the Thirukadukkai Moontreeswarar Temple.

More than 80 elders from nearby villages and Pappakudi.Mannarkoil ,VK puram,Kalyanipuram and Alwarkurichy participated in the program. Additionally, 45 school children from Hindu Middle School in Pappakudi took part and conducted a cultural program.

SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 107

We are happy to report that the 107th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held, featuring two engagements with both elders and younger participants, in line with our concept of connecting generations. This week, we focused on the Independence Day celebration and provided training for the younger participants with the support of the elders in preparing traditional snacks.

SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 106

Our 106th Saturday Sangamam event was held on the 10th of August at Ambai Tamil Elakkiya Peravai. Our participation was graciously invited by the Peravai’s Secretary, Mr. Lakshmanan, as part of their 49th Annual Day celebration.
Over 60 elders from our trust attended the event, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and engaging activities. We arranged transportation for all attendees, ensuring a smooth pick-up and drop-off. The event itself saw the participation of more than 380 individuals, with our Vama team performing from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

FULL MOON DINNER

Today at Sailam, we have started Full Moon Dinner with elders. Around 24 elders who are our regular mid day meal beneficiaries and others gathers and spent their good evening and had dinner together.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Yesterday our students and elders celebrated 78th Independence Day. Elders shared their experiences and expertise to younger generations through culinary skills training. Several tips on cooking and kitchen related topics were shared.

SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 104

Vama’s 104th Saturday Sangamam event was held yesterday, – 27/7/24. Around 90 elders participated from V.K. Puram, Mannarkoil, Alwarkurichi, Chettikulam, Sivasailam, Kalyanipuram, Sambankulam and Pappakudi. Physiotherapy team from Selvan Swaminathan Health Centre, Avvai Ashram came and treated elders for their various physical aches. Post basic checks, the doctor advised some of the patients to visit Avvai Ashram Campus for regular therapy.
Parallely, Ms. Subha and Ms. Gousalya engaged with elders with several activities including Yoga, Games, Songs and storytelling etc. Elders eagerly participated and enjoyed all the activities.

The 103th week of the Sailathil Saturday Sangamam event was held yesterday, July 20, 2024. Around 100 Elders from VK Puram,Alwarkurichy Kadayam and pottalputhur participated.
Aadi month has just started and in coming months bhakti overflows in a significant manner, starting with Aadi, which signals the start of festivities spreading over months. It is the sacred time for embarking on agricultural activity, of remembering our ancestors, and seeking divine blessings for prosperity and procreation. SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 102

The 102nd week of the Sailathil Saturday Sangamam event was held on July 6, 2024. More than 90 Elders from VK Puram, Mannar kovil, Alwarkurichy Kadayam and pottalputhur participated.
The Sangamam commenced at 10.00 A.M. with a prayer song sung by Mrs. Puspam, who captivated everyone with her sweet voice. Following the prayer, the elders engaged in yoga exercises for relaxation and rejuvenation. The program then started with elders sharing stories that provided valuable morals to the audience.
