We are happy to share the details of the 116th week of the Saturday Sangamam, held on October 19th at our Sailam. More than 110 elders participated from our regular villages, and this week, we welcomed new beneficiaries from various locations. Ms. Suba and Ms. Gowsi conducted the event with a refreshing new concept. The Sangamam began with a prayer song, expressing spiritual devotion. The prayer was sung by Mrs. Pushpam in her sweetest voice. Following this, Mrs. Lakshmi led the meditation session, which was followed by the elders. Upon completing the meditation, many felt a noticeable impact and mentioned feeling relieved from stress.

115th Week of Saturday Sangamam: Saraswathy Pooja and Vijayadashami Celebrations On the 115th week of Saturday Sangamam, we celebrated the auspicious occasions of Saraswathy Pooja and Vijayadashami over two days, on the 11th and 12th. On the 11th, we performed the Saraswathy Pooja, followed by the Vijayadashami Pooja on the 12th.
FULL MOON DAY
We are glad to share about the full moon day that we organized the gathering at our Sailam on 17th octoberil. More than 15 local elders participated, and our trustee, Mr. Muthukumarasamy joined with his family. Mr. Madasamy, a retired Headmaster of Sree Paramakalyani High School, Alwarkurichi, also graced the occasion and shared memories from his past. In his talk, Mr. Madasamy reminisced about his childhood, highlighting the generosity and sense of community that elders had during that time. He fondly recalled how, during moonlit dinners, families would share their venjanam (curry)
with neighbors. He emphasized the tradition of pillai soru (food for children) and how mindfully it was shared among children, a practice deeply rooted in their culture.
SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 114
The 114th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held today at Pappakudi, where we organized a temple visit for the elders. Since it is the month of Purattasi, a special time for Perumal darshan, a trip was planned for Sree Lakshmi Narasimhar Trmple, Papakudi. On our request, Mr. Natarajan supported to conduct this event as an Active Ageing Group program. Elders gathered at Shri Thirukadigai Mundreeswarar Sivan Koil and had a prayer for the elders at the Sivan Temple. After the darshan, everyone gathered at temple and served. tea and biscuits.
INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR OLDER PERSON ALONG WITH MERIT BEd COLLEGE STUDENTS
Celebrating the wisdom of our elders- Vama trust along with the first year BEd students from Merit college of Education ,Idaikal celebrated International Day for Older Persons. Around 70 elders were entertained by 34 BEd students & 5 professors and Principal madam. Students sung old songs, danced and spoke importance of caring elders. Dr P Indumathy, MBBS, DDVL , a well known Dermatologist graced the occasion as Special Guest. She shared her thoughts on how elders to take care of themselves regularly with proper hygiene practices, right diets and small tips on caring skins etc.

We are delighted to share the highlights of this 113th week’s Saturday Sangamam, held on 28/09/2024 at the Angala Parameshwari Koil Mandapam in Kallidaikurichy. This event was supported by Mr. Sathasivam, a retired Tahsildar and a well-wisher of our VAMA Trust. As planned by our Managing Trustee , this week’s gathering was organized around the hub-and-spoke model of VAMA’s activities. We were pleased to welcome 15 new local participants to the Sangamam. Our regular beneficiaries from Kallidaikurichy, Ambasamudram, Mannarkoil, Thirumalaipuram, VK Puram, Alwarkurichy and Kalyanipuram actively participated, with over 130 elders in attendance.

Greetings from VAMA Charitable Trust! We are delighted to share the success of the 112th week of the Saturday Sangamam event, held on 21st September. This week, we celebrated Teachers’ Day — a meaningful occasion where both elders and educators reflected on the enduring value of education and the profound sacrifices teachers have made throughout history.
FULL MOON DINNER
We organized a special dinner at our Sailam to commemorate the full moon day, honoring our senior members. Mrs. Vasathykumar headed the program and initiated the prayer. The event featured traditional cuisine, including idly, thosai, brinjal kichadi, chutney, and idly podi, with over 20 elders participating.Our trustee delivered a keynote address highlighting the significance of full moon day and the potency of collective prayer, emphasizing its immediate impact on our requests.

The 111th week of the Sailathil Saturday Sangamam event was held on 14th September 2024, centered around the theme of “Connecting Generations.” The event saw participation from over 130 elders from various areas, including VK Puram, Mannarkovil, Alwarkurichy, Kadayam, Pappakudi, Thirumalaipuram, and Pottalputhur.The Sangamam commenced at 10:00 A.M. with a soulful prayer song performed by Mrs. Puspam, whose melodious voice captivated everyone.
SATURDAY MILAN (சனிக்கிழமை சங்கமம்) – 110
We are glad to share that the 110th week of the Saturday Sangamam event was successfully held on 7th September 2024 at our Sailam . This week, we celebrated Vinayagar Chathurthi with our elders. Over 80 elders participated and got the blessings of Sree Soundarya Ganapathy.
Our kitchen team prepared delicious mothagam and prasadam for the celebration. The elders sang songs in praise of Lord Vinayagar and shared stories, including the significance of Lord Vinayagar and the reason behind the legend of Kajamugan. Mrs. Sivagamiyammal shared stories about Vinayagar, and Ms. Pushpam sung several dovational songs with her sweet voice, singing many songs related to the Vinayagar Chathurthy celebration.
